Update and still waiting
Summertime! Jackson has officially finished Kindergarten. The school had a very sweet program in which Jackson held the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance. The big news is that Jackson received the Principal's Award for spelling!! We are so proud, as is he. Not sure if I've mentioned it but Jackson has gotten 100% on just about every spelling test he's taken this year, which is pretty impressive considering the general education kids don't even start doing spelling tests until 1st grade. Great job, Jackson!
Health-wise Jackson continues to be healthy and stable. We've stopped all his immune suppressants and related meds as a final hope of getting his donor cells to grow. It's strange to have stopped so many of his medications - I find myself looking at the clock a lot, with a feeling that I'm forgetting to do something. We'll draw labs next week to find out how his body has responded to the drop in meds. If he does end up needing a second transplant, it's good that his body will get some time off the meds anyway.
I'll update late next week or early the following week with his results. Thanks for any prayers you can send his way!
